St. Louis manager Tony La Russa has decided that he will give the ball to his ace Chris Carpenter for the start of tonight’s Game 7 of the World Series.
After an amazing 10-9 victory last night thanks to a walk off home run by Cardinals third baseman David Freese, the Cards have forced a game 7 in this winner takes all showdown versus the Texas Rangers.
Carpenter will make his third start of the World Series tonight this one being on three days rest. The right handed pitcher is 1-1 in the series winning the opener in St. Louis and losing Game 5 in Arlington, Texas 4-2. This will be Carpenter’s second game seven start where he’ll try to recap the performance he had in the divisional series against the Philadelphia Phillies pitching a complete game shut out gem.
I see the fans in St. Louis hitting the streets tonight as the Cards will win 5-2 thanks in large part to the arm of Carpenter and the bat of Albert Pujols.
