The Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins have quietly been working on a trade scenario that would send quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Viks. Although details are still uncertain one thing that is would be McNabb taking a big pay cut. If a deal is reached Minnesota would require Donovan to restructure his contract and take a one year $7 million dollar deal. Less than half of the $14.75 million owed to him in 2011.
The Vikings QB situtation is up in the air with the retirement of Favre and having second year man Joe Webb and rookie Christian Ponder on the roster. Backup Tarvaris Jackson is rumored to be heading to Seattle.
McNabb who turns 35 in November is coming off his worst season as a starter in his 12 seasons in the league. The window could be closing and this could be the last chapter in McNabb’s possible hall of fame career.
