Injuries have hurt but the Colts and Texans this year although the two teams records wouldn’t prove so. Well maybe Indy’s does.
The Colts have been without future hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning for the entire season and have had their worst season since Peyton has been in the league. With their first win of the season coming last week , Indy avoided matching the 2008 Detroit Lions with a 0-16 season but will still finish with possibly the worst record in the league this season. With Peyton’s neck injury and him being past his prime in the eyes of many has raised the question should the Colts draft Stanford QB Andrew Luck in the 2012 draft.
The Houston Texans will make the playoffs for the first time in team history and also have the franchise’s best record but injuries to arguably the best receiver in the NFL Andre Johnson and season ending injuries to both quarterbacks Matt Schab and Matt Leinart may end Houston’s Super Bowl hopes. The Texans top five defense and rookie third string QB T.J. Yates have carried the load well but I’m not sure if that formula will work in the playoffs.
Although the Colts won last week I don’t see a repeat this week. I like the Texans 31-16. Look for a big game from the Texans defense.
