Ar-Ab releases his new mixtape, Who Harder Than Me 2, hosted by DJ Damage and DJ Alamo. If the city was lacking the goon, hardbody music, then Ar-Ab delivered it. “Day Light” is a dope Wes Grand beat where Ar-Ab says “Im not going home til Day Light”.
The first single off #WHTM2 is “Ziplock”. We all fucks with this record especially when the bass on this Wes Grand beat kicks in. “I get mine by the Ziplock, I be on the grind til it get hot…”. This record makes me do a Flavor Flav dance, lol shaking my head with my eyes close while dancing inplace.
“Goon Story” is exactly what everyone knows Ar-Ab for. All the thugs in the streets going to fuck with this song. This song definitely needs a movie or short film based on his vivid lyrics.
“Dodgeball” is a dope concept and title for a track. The hook on one of my favorite tracks goes like this “Im on the block playing dodgeball, in and out of cars knocking mine off … Im on the block playing freeze tag, eighteen O’s in the freeze bag, ding dong dixie with a ski mask…”
I had the chance to hear “Snow White” in studio months ago and this is a another dope concept and dope title. Ab manages to talk about Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Crazy right!!
Ar-Ab talking about his significant other??? Yesh he grabs MarOnTheTrack for “Usually” which he talks about sipping champagne, shopping sprees, not breaking her hurt, showing her to his mom, and more. This is definitely one of those Ar-Ab is making music type of tracks.
“2Min” is a song about Ar-Ab’s mother who recently passed away. Ar-Ab talks about not wanting to rap because his mother passed away. He talks about rapping to buy his mother a big house, wanting to be rich but since she passed away he almost gave up rap. Thats why he asks for “2 Min” on this track. Its more of a story on this track that I can’t explain, so tune in and listen to Ab’s lyrics.
The “Grave Shift” is that record for all my niggas in the streets doing hand to hand sells just to pay rent, just to put food on the table, just to get enough money to provide for their family.
“That Bull” is a fucking banger. If you pay attention this was on HHS1987’s first Social Media Monday list that we gave to Funkmaster Flex in July. “Everybody knows Im THAT BULL” is the workout song when I need to get cocky to get that last rep. I blast this track, recite the hook and pound my chest with my fist.
“Horns Blow” is a track with Ar-Ab talks about doing this before his time is out. This track features Philly’s own, Freeway.
“The Bottom” featuring Swizz Beatz is the second single off this mixtape. Swizzy do what he does and brings the energy ti the track with the following hook “TOP, GOOND, TOP GOODN, TOP, GOON, TOP GOON … BITCH I DO IT FOR THE BOTTOM”. Grabbing Swizz Beatz for a hook is major and just shows what Ar-Ab can do now that he is fully focused on rap.
Overall I fucks with the project from Ar-Ab. It was nice hearing him open up about his mother on “2min” because thats something he hasnt done in the past. He even has a record talking about females which was different coming from Ar-Ab. He also has some dope titled/concept tracks in “Snow White”, “Dodgeball” and more. All while delivering goon music for the streets on tracks like “That Bull”, “Goon Story”, “Ziplock”, “Grave Shift”, “Day Light” and more.
