On July 21,2012 Global Fusion Week completed with the its signature festival at Penns Landing. This free concert haz been welcoming diverse crowds for the past 6 years to enjoy ethnic food, dance, activities and live performances.
The 2012 Global Fusion Festival featured a talented list of local acts and national superstars from Philly hometown favorite Cody Khamar to headlining act Brandy. The rest of the lineup consisted of music of multiple genres like latino, soul, rap and R&B. The crowd came out to enjoy the sounds of Luke James, Kenny Latimore, Elle Varner, Kendrick Lamar and more.
The energy on the waterfront was one of pure excitement as the crowd awaited the return of Brandy. Elle Varner and Kendrick Lamar kept the crowd pumping with sets that made the audience rush to the stage. Once Brandy made her way to the stage, fans could not contain themselves. She performed all her classic from Full Moon to Have You Ever and some songs from her upcoming album 211 due out October 2nd.
An emotional Brandy stopped a few times during her set to sign CD’s and speak to fans. And if you did not know, Brandy is currently dating a Philly native and she expressed how performing in Philly was very special to he’d and that she always feels welcomed.
The Global Fusion Festival is just one of the many events going on during the annual Charlie Mack Celebrity Weekend. At the festival, we also spotted Lil Mama and Affion Crockett who were also a part of the festivities.
