Overbrook HS vs Bartram HS (Alumni Basketball Game) (Photos + Stats)

Saturday, April 14, 2012. Community College of Philadelphia was the site for the 1^st annual “Battle for Bragging Rights” basketball game between the Overbrook Panthers and Bartram Braves. Players from all different eras came out to lace up the sneaks for this special occasion. Naim Crenshaw, Rahim Washington, Sean King, Nurideen Lindsey & Kristian Clarkson rounded out the starting five for the Panthers while Bobby Bouknight, Daniel Joyner, Rich Francis, Bobby Leach and Jewel Hairston respectively lined up against them in what turned out to be a game that lived up to the hype. At the half Overbrook led 52-46 after a barrage of dunks by Kristian Clarkson. Fast forwarding to the fourth quarter both teams threw haymakers on offense and coud never build up a lead of more than 7 points. With under 1 minute to play and the score tied at 79 Nurideen Lindsey split the defense at the top of the key, went hard left and took off. He was fouled with less than 17 seconds to go and calmly went to the line and sank both free throws. After a timeout Bartram inbounded the ball to Rich Francis, guarded by Shawn Ikokwu. Charles Jones spotted up from the right corner and missed an open three. Ikokwu retrieved the rebound but step out of bounds giving the ball back to the Braves with only a few seconds on the clock. On the ensuing possession Bobby Bouknight dribbled on the left wing while guarded by Sean King and finally put up a well contested shot that missed slight right and that decided the game after a missed 1-and-1 by Kristian Clarkson and a last second heave from Bobby Leach.

During halftime both teams honored their long time coaches Ron Ford (Overbrook) Louis Biester (Bartram) by presenting them with Lifetime Achievement Awards for all the hard work and dedication they unselfishly gave to their respective schools throughout the years.
