South 2012 AFC South Preview and Predictions

Now for a look at my AFC South Predictions and Preview. Here are my predictions from worst to first.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2011: 5-11  2012: 5-11  )
Sadly I don’t see much improvement from this team. Yeah MJD is a great back. Yeah the Jags drafted Justin Blackmon and yeah they still won’t win more than 6 games. I don’t see Gabbert as being a successful NFL quarterback. He seems scared in the pocket. With a young and shaky defensive I don’t see them stopping anyone. New head coach Mike Mularkey surely has his hands full.

Key Additions: Justin Blackmon, Aaron Ross

 Key Losses: David Garrard

Indianapolis Colts (2011: 2-14  2012: 8-8)

The Andrew Luck era begins now in Indy and I’m looking forward to seeing what the kid can do. Changes to the Colts D may set them up to be very successful this year on the defensive side of the ball. The addition of CB Vontae Davis will be huge for the Colts secondary. Fans are waiting to see if Luck can replace Peyton but I’m more concerned on how that offensive line protects him. Luck could easily become a NFL great but I don’t see more than 7 wins this season. A quick start could prove me wrong.

Key Additions: Andrew Luck

Key Losses: Peyton Manning, Pierre Garcon

Tennessee Titans (2011: 9-7 2012: 10-6)
The return of CJ2K to pro bowl form may determine how successful the Titans will be. Former Washington Huskies QB Jake Locker is the starter and with wideouts Britt and rookie Kendall Wright Tennessee could have a great offensive. This division is up for grabs so let see if Locker can lead his team into the postseason

Key Additions: Kendall Wright

Key Losses: None

texans-150x150 2012 AFC South Preview and Predictions

Houston Texans (2011: 10-6  2012:12-4)
The Texans on paper could be the best team in the NFL. A great Defense with a great WR and RB could march the Texans in to the Super Bowl. The lost of DE/LB Mario Williams could affect the D’s chemistry but if Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub still healthy the offense can pick up any slack from Wade Phillips defense.

Key Additions: John Beck

Key Losses: Mario Williams
