Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints Avoid Monday’s Deadline
Drew Brees, Saints QB, Can’t Wait to Get Back
Drew Brees can now breathe easy. The New Orleans QB has long waited this moment for his deal to be renewed. He was holding his ground, as someone of with his statistics should when it comes to money being involved. Thursday, the deal was close to being finished except the fact each party’s numbers were millions apart. However, it’s not a surprise the 5-year, $100 Million, $60 Million guaranteed, $40 Million the first year contract was awarded to Brees. In 2012, Drew Brees set a new bar for QB’s all over the league. He passed Dan Marino’s passing record just before the season was over and has ranked No. 1 in the organization’s history for a while now. He deserves this contract, its good news for the Saints since Drew Brees was threatening to not show up for training camp.
