Fred Lewis is an left fielder for the Buffalo Bisons. The Bisons are a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. In the week of July 9 to July 15, the International League chose Fred Lewis as their Batter-of-the-Week.
The Bisons’ current record is 49-46. They are 23-21 at home while 26-25 away.
Lewis is an excellent batter. He leads the team with a .295 batting average. On the season he has 16 doubles, 50 runs, and 18 stolen bases. I have a feeling that he’s not done stealing bases yet. A previous record might be on the player’s mind. Lewis’ 18 steals are the most of a Bison player since fellow outfielder Ben Francisco stole 22 in 2007.
In his recent performances, Fred Lewis racked up three homers, seven RBI, five runs and stole two bases in the stretch against Pawtucket Red Sox. He aided in the defeats of International League powerhouse, taking three of four games. The Red Sox are a Boston Red Sox affiliate and are currently fourth in the IL.
