torrey Ravens WR Smith Shines Big Against Patriots Following Loss Of Brother

Words can not explain the pain Ravens’ wide out Torrey Smith must have felt playing against the New England Patriots. Following the lost of Smith’s brother Tevin early Sunday morning in a motorcycle accident Torrey went out against the Patriots and possibly played the game of his life.

Tevin Jones, the brother of Torrey Smith died when his motorcycle struck a utility pole in the Montross area of Virginia around 12 midnight Sunday morning. Jones’ 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1 was traveling eastbound on Route 672 when he ran off the right side of the roadway and struck the pole. Jones was wearing his helmet at the time but  police have reported Jones died at the scene and that Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Smith used social media to express his deep lost. Smith wrote on twitter “I can’t believe my little brother is gone,”  “Be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them. .. This is the hardest thing ever.” Later Smith posted a photograph of himself and his brother on instagram stating “I can’t say a bad thing about him…proud to have him as a brother…RIP Tevin.”

Despite Smith’s heavy heart he went out on Sunday Night Football and his play helped the Ravens bet New England 31-30. Smith accounted for 6 receptions for 127 yards and 2 touchdown catches. Players and teammates around the NFL all showed love and respect to Smith and his family during this difficult time.

The Ravens are now 2-1 and have a short week hosting the Cleveland Browns this week on Thursday night football.
