Out of the city of Philadelphia comes one of the most innovative rap artists in the music industry today, Naadir Ibn Wright, also known as AnTHRAXX da General. His music reflects the complicated life thrust upon him and how being true to himself proved to be the key to his survival in life as well as in the music industry.
Anthraxx has worked with producer Rick Nyce, local Philadelphia artist Chic Raw as well as Grammy Award winning Lil Wayne. You can find him featured on The Drought is Over 5, We Hustle. In 2007, two weeks before he was to sign a contract with Young Money Records, AnTHRAXX was sentenced to do 2-4 years for attempted murder and therefore was unable to sign the deal.
Four days before his parole date AnTHRAXX received the life shattering news that his sister died from complications due to Lupus. While still picking up the pieces of himself from his sister’s death he soon had to start the process all over again with the death of his beloved grandmother. These tragedies are now chapters of a story told by an artist that has risen from the mere status of “another rapper from Philadelphia” and he has surfaced as “AnTHRAXX da General”, ready to take command of the music industry.
