He’s been a big part of the current West Coast resurgence and now DJ and producer DJ Mustard is officially a part of the Roc. Jay Z’s offical blog had this to say about signing the young hit maker:
Roc Nation welcomes producer Dijon “DJ Mustard” McFarlane to the Roc Nation label. Currently signed to Roc Nation management, DJ Mustard will now serve on the label roster alongside celebrated artists including Rihanna, J. Cole, and Rita Ora.
Rising to fame within hip hop culture with his signature “ratchet” sound and phrase “Mustard On The Beat…,” the Los Angeles native has quickly become one of the most sought-after producers. With several hits making waves on Billboard and radio charts, Mustard has produced chart-topping hits for A-list rappers including 2 Chainz (“I’m Different”), Young Jeezy (“R.I.P.”) and Tyga (“Rack City”). “What I’m doing now is just trying to convert over and show people that I can do more than just club records…,” said DJ Mustard. “Just growing up and changing the outlook of what people think of me.”
