At this point i’m officially convinced that trouble wakes up every morning and personally knocks on DMX‘s (DMX & Rakim – Dont Call Me Ft Shontelle & Aleks D) door. Just when he was getting over the media backlash he received for running naked in a Detroit hotel (DMX Caught Running Naked Through A Hotel In Detroit Naked) this past September, X is back in the news headlines and no not because some extended footage from his visit to the Dr. Phil show (DMX Visits Dr. Phil For A One Of A Kind Experience) was leaked.
Earl “DMX” Simmons has made front page tabloids yet again, this time around because his bankruptcy claim was denied due to noncompliance according to Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert D. Drain. X originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in July stating he had $50,000 in assets, while he owes approximately $10 million in debts.
Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert D. Drain dismissed the July 29 Chapter 11 filing at the request of U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis, who in court papers said that Simmons’ failed to give the court trustworthy information.
Davis’ office accused Simmons of “obvious inconsistencies regarding his income and assets, rendering it impossible to ascertain his financial affairs.”
Simmons owns half of a Mount Kisco home at 142 McLain St., which was also a point of contention in court papers because the rapper couldn’t prove he has insurance for the house. The Mount Kisco house has a lien of $453,702 according to court records.
Domenick Nati (of Nati Celebrity Services), released an official statement on behalf of X:
“Despite any obstacle we might face, the team will continue to move forward with DMX’s national performances and we are still working relentlessly at obtaining his passport for his fan overseas.”
**Bonus: Is DMX-mas the album on the way? Hopefully, anything to help get rid of some of that debt.**
