It seems as if a black cloud has been pouring on the Los Angeles Lakers all season and that cloud has just become the perfect storm.
Last night as the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors in what was a must win for the Lakers, Kobe Bryant possibly torn his achilles tendon and his season likely is over.
With 3:06 left to play in the Lakers’ 118-116 win over the Warriors as Bryant tried to drive against Warriors rookie Harrison Barnes, Kobe seemed to slip and the Lakers chances at a NBA Championship and Western conference playoff push may have slipped away as well.
After the game Kobe sat in the Lakers locker room on crutches and made these comments to the media. “I can’t walk,” “I tried to maybe put pressure on my heel, but there was nothing there.” Kobe also called this injury the most disappointing injury of his career. “We worked so hard to put ourselves in position and control our fate, I certainly have done a lot of work to prepare myself. It’s just bad luck.”
The Lakers are still one game up on the Utah Jazz for the 8th and final spot in the Western conference and both teams have two games remaining. If there is a tie at the end of the year the Utah Jazz own the tie breaker. Kobe was undergo a MRI later later.
