Recently HHS1987 caught up with the King Of Memphis, Yo Gotti to discuss an array of things. As Yo Gotti prepares for the release of his new album “The Art Of Hustle”, we spoke with Yo Gotti about his “Errrbody” remix featuring Lil Wayne and Ludacris, what he wants fans to take from his upcoming album, Memphis’ rap scene and much more.
Yo Gotti opened up to us about why he chose to have Lil Wayne and Ludacris on his “Errrbody” remix. As Yo Gotti’s single “Errrbody” continued to heat up the clubs and airwaves it was only right that he released a remix. Yo Gotti spoke on wanting Wayne on the remix due to their great relationship and knowing he wanted Luda on the remix due to his clever lines and word play. Yo Gotti explained that he has never heard a wack or corny verse from Ludacris so it was only right.
We also spoke with Yo Gotti about his album “The Art Of Hustle”. Yo Gotti explained that he has enough material for the album to be done however his formula includes working up to the deadline. Yo Gotti informed us that some of his best work has come toward the end of the process so although he has a bunch of material ready, there is still more work to be done. When we asked about production or features on the album, Yo Gotti was quick to inform us that Big Sean has a crazy track on the album.
With Yo Gotti having a great relationship with Philadelphia native, Dream Chasers own Meek Mill, it was only right to ask Yo Gotti has he spoke to Meek during Meek’s brief time off the streets. Yo Gotti informed us that he has spoke to Meek Mill several times and he remains in great spirits due to the situation.
Before concluding the interview we spoke with Yo Gotti about a few interesting topics. With Yo Gotti having such a strong business mind, we spoke with Yo Gotti about the toughest issues he faced leaving the streets and entering the rap game, possibly owning the Memphis Grizzles, his new restaurant Prive which is located in Memphis, his definition of a 5 Star Chick and how he linked with Rich Homie Quan for their single “I Know”.
