The 2014-15 NBA free agency period is underway and as things begin to heat up, the Atlanta Hawks have begin to clear cap space to sign a marque free agent.
Clearing up space early, the Atlanta Hawks have traded scoring machine Lou Williams to the Toronto Raptors for forward John Salmons. The Hawks have announced that they will immediately waive Salmons to clear their cap to around $15.5 million dollars.
According to ESPN.com the Raptors will also acquire the rights to Brazilian big man Lucas Nogueira from the Hawks. Nogueira played for Estudiantes in Spain after being selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2013 draft.
