NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that former number one overall pick, New Orleans Pelicans center/forward Anthony Davis will replaced Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant in the 2014 NBA all-star game and be added to the western conference roster. Bryant will miss the game due to injury so Davis was considered largely by his NBA peers as an all-star snub was awarded the spot. Davis has been putting up all-star numbers all year leading the NBA with 3 blocks a night and averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds. Davis will be the Pelicans (who host NBA All-Star weekend) only representative.
