Rock Steady Crew‘s annual contribution to Hip Hop culture hits it’s 38th year this Sunday. The Rock Steady Crew Anniversary has been a staple concert for NYC’s SummerStage series for quite some time now. Each year the legendary b-boys bring together some of Hip Hop’s finest to perform in front of a diverse group of old school and new school Hip Hop heads. This year, Whodini, Big Daddy Kane, eMC (Masta Ace, Wordsworth & Stricklin), Your Old Droog, Queen Herawin, Ea$y Money, The Mood Doctors and a few special guests will hit the stage. The city’s longest running Hip Hop open mic, End of the Weak (EOW), will be hosting as DJ Scratch, DJ Evil Dee & Mr. Walt (of Da Beatminerz), JS-1 and DV One handle turntable duties. In previous years, legendary Hip Hop artists such as Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, Keith Murray, Cormega, M.O.P., Onyx and more have come out to perform surprise sets. And lastly, but surely not least, the legendary b-boy crew usually closes out the show with their dynamic moves.
