The University of Miami is looking to return to their glory days in athletics and to start with a fresh slate, the Hurricanes are starting over. Ending a 27 year relationship with Nike, the University of Miami has decided to leave their deal with Nike and take on a new 8 year deal with Adidas.
According to reports, the U and Adidas have agreed to deal that will last 8 years and be worth near $30 million dollars. The University of Miami and Nike were up for negotiations this year as their contract was up on August 31, 2015.
This was a big move for adidas as a whole. Currently Nike outfits 45 of 65 power five conference schools while Adidas comes in second with eleven. Following them Under Armour has eight and Russell Athletic has only one. What do you think of this move for the U? Let us know below.
