Long Island’s Typ-iLL serves up a grimy new joint, “Typ Changed,” to celebrate his upcoming performance at the A3C Festival in Atlanta.
While Typ is most definitely fired up on the borderline-menacing “Typ Changed,” it’s not in the rapid-fire, blistering-bars approach you may have heard from him before. Sure, there are moments of whirlwind rhymes and technical prowess, particularly after the two-minute mark, but it’s all balanced by his more relaxed swagger and delivery on the hook and the opening verse. His longtime collaborator, fellow Long Island rep, 5ickness, complements that confidence with a snarling, guitar-heavy instrumental made for giving wack rappers the gas face.
As for the rest of the fifth ‘A3C’ compilation, it features a total of 50 tracks from a varied cast of underground heavy-hitters including ProbCause, Dee Goodz, MaLLy, Tunji Ige, and U-God. You can stream the fifth consecutive installment right here, in its entirety. “Typ Changed” also works as another reminder that Typ’s upcoming project with Statik Selektah, Veterans Day, is coming soon. Be sure to give its first single, “Typ Statik,” a listen to prepare yourself for the full release.
