There was most definitely a somber feel this weekend with the tragic news of the passing of Chicago DJ, Timbuck2 from a long battle with cancer. The DJ was mentored into the music industry by Twilite Tone and No I.D. over at WHPK and became a staple and household name in the Chicago radio market over at 107.5 WGCI.
Tim’s ran a show called, Go iLL Radio broadcasted on Saturday night’s on 107.5 WGCI, he showcased local talent and was helped break a number of Chicago’s top acts. I had the chance to meet Tim in NYC at a Fabolous’ listening event at the Nike ID store some years back. He was a humble guy and very genuine and from then on I listened to his sets and understood why he was so revered.
RIP to DJ Timbuck2 Hip-Hop lost a good one!
