We still talking K. Dot Vs. Drizzy? Because if that’s the case, these numbers aren’t lying. Kendrick Lamar’s culturally powerful new LP, To Pimp A Butterfly, which hasn’t even seen shelves yet to accumulate unit sales, broke Drake’s Spotify record for most streams in one day. Interscope dropped the ball on the album & leaked it, leading the Compton hometown hero no choice but to put it out there himself. He initially took it down from iTunes, but then put it back up for pre-order before making it available for purchase again. All the while, it was available for streaming via Spotify & in that same day, he racked up on 9.6 Million Spotify streams, topping Drake’s 6.8 Million for his Mixtape, If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.

TDE CEO, Anthony Tiffith, has projected that TPAB will see a million sales in the first week, but it’s still fairly too early to say. If you’ve yet to hear this mighty piece of work, listen here
