If you paid attention to the 2016 GRAMMY nominations announcement, then you were probably just as surprised as most when Drake’s “Back to Back” was included for “Best Rap Performance” – considering it’s a “diss record.” On the flip-side, oddly enough, Drake’s chart topping single, “Hotline Bling,” wasn’t mentioned at all.
Many speculate what the issue might have been but apparently, it was simply a clerical error by Cash Money Records. Drake’s parent label missed out on the submission process and the Grammy committee wasn’t able to include the song as a contender.
