The New England Patriots and the news surrounding them of having deflated footballs has taken the NFL by storm and recently Seattle Seahawks star cornerback spoke out on the situation.
During the first day of his week long stay in Arizona for Super Bowl 49, Richard Sherman informed the media that he didn’t feel the NFL would fine or punish the Patriots for “Deflategate” based on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s relationship with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
“Will they be punished? Probably not,” “Not as long as Robert Kraft and Roger Goodell are still taking pictures at their respective homes.
“You talk about conflict of interest. As long as that happens, it won’t affect them at all. Nothing will stop them.”
Sherman doesn’t think there’s much of a difference between the perception of the Patriots and the reality of how close they get to toeing the line on the rules.
“Their résumé speaks for itself,” Sherman said. “You talk about getting close to the line, this and that. I don’t really have a comment about that. Their past is what their past is. Their present is what their present is.”
This “Deflatgate” situation of the Patriots being accused of deflating footballs doesn’t appear to be coming to an end anytime soon. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more sports news.
