Now that the Chicago Bulls 2014-15 NBA regular season and post season is over, the wall are tumbling down. After leading the Chicago Bulls to the playoffs for 5 straight season and have a overall record of (255-139), the Chicago Bulls have parted ways with their now former head coach tom Thibodeau.
I can said many of us NBA fans and writers saw this coming for some time but the way he was dismissed by the Bulls was classless and weird. Reportedly after Tom Thibodeau was fired he was escorted out of the building by security and the Bulls front office immediately begin bashing Tom Thibodeau’s time as the head coach.
The Chicago Bulls have a history of poor break ups after having a bad breakup with the way Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan left Chi-town. According to ESPN,
Now, the Bulls will be searching for their 22nd head coach in franchise history (including interims).
Their interest in Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg as a replacement for Thibodeau has been an open secret around the league for months, but it is not yet clear whether Chicago has a commitment from Hoiberg to make the jump to the pros. Hoiberg, who played for the Bulls for four seasons during his 10-year NBA career, has a close relationship with several members of the Bulls’ front office, including Forman.
Forman does not want to put the Bulls in a box in terms of characteristics they are looking for in a new coach, but it is clear from his statements Thursday that the front office wants the next coach to communicate with people better throughout the organization.
“As far as our next coach is concerned, and what we’re going to be looking for in our next coach, quite simply we’re going to be looking for the right fit,” Forman said. “The right fit for our individual players, the right fit for our team, the right fit for our organization. We’ll be looking for somebody who is a leader, who’s got great communication skills, who’s got an excellent knowledge of the game of basketball, someone that’s an open and creative learner.”
Thibodeau, meanwhile, may not be out of work for long.
The New Orleans Pelicans and Orlando Magic are known to be interested in speaking to him about their head-coaching vacancies.
The Bulls as mentioned above are now looking for a new head coach and they have a few questions to address this offseason. Jimmy Butler is seeking a new contact, Derrick Rose could be on the trading block and Pau Gasol will be a year older next season. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for all your sports news.
