I know everyone was hoping that Kels would get deep on the subject, but you know he didn’t. In fact, I’m not sure if he’s given the biopic any of his attention at all, publicly. While in ATL, R. Kelly stopped by V-103 to chop it up with Big Tigger for a bit. Tigger tried his luck & asked Kelly on his feelings about the disaster of a biopic that was created on the life of our fallen r&b sensation, Aaliyah. The film received terrible ratings & feedback from fans & those closest to the singer who were outraged at the way Lifetime chose to depict her life, against her family’s will. When Tigger mentioned the film, R. Kelly responded with this:
I didn’t watch that cause once they said they was making the movie & somebody was going to be playing me, can’t nobody play me homie. You got to know me to play me. If you dont know me you CAN’T play me, so why should I watch something that isn’t real… When I’m real.
There you have it folks, the village has spoken. Will someone step up to the plate & give her life its rightful depiction in the near future? We’ll have to wait & see..
