2015, as a whole, was a good year for Bay Area’s own, Caleborate. The successful release of his most recent EP, Hella Good which broke pavement with notable records like “From The Eastbay With Love”, “Get The Green” and “SMH” with over 50K soundcloud streams thus far, led to a cosign from another Bay Area native, G-Eazy, eventually spawning their latest collaboration, Want It All.
With all of the momentum Caleb has gained since releasing his 2015 project & becoming a household name throughout the entire Bay Area, he’s now ready to further his journey into the new year and build more traction. Today the Oakland native breaks the silence that has thickened the air since his last December release, “Hold On”. His new sounds are of a caliber that would allow faithful listeners to now call him Caleborate 2.0, and first-time listeners, an upcoming problem.
His introduction into 2016 comes in form a package deal with two new releases. Continuing his relationship with frequent producer collab, Cal-A, Caleborate skates across the beat and reminds fans of his braggadocios wordplay with his first single. While informing us of the many major label calls he’s entertained, yet dismissed, and boasting about ladies who insist on making their presence known to him, he stands behind the well-versed ego of someone who has “The Juice”.
His second single, “On Silent,” features a soulful sample true to the native Caleborate sound. With production coming from Ian Petrarca & Hau5pary, he settles into his story-telling vibes and drops his knowledge on the masses.
Expect a new project from the TBKTR frontrunner in the near future. These two loose tracks are only the beginning for what Caleborate soon has in store.
Listen up after the break for his latest.
