The Philadelphia Sixers now stand at (4-11) after a tough loss to the (10-5) Memphis Grizzlies. The Wells Fargo Center was electric last night as the young Sixers team held the lead for most of the game. Philadelphia Sixers rookie Joel Embiid continued to look strong last night but limited minutes prevented him from being able to help the Sixers avoid a (104-99) double overtime lost to the Grizzles.
For the Sixers, the addition of forward Ersan IIyasova continues to paid off as he finished the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Joel Embiid continued to showcase his all-star potential as he put up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Embiid due to minute restrictions did not play in the second overtime and he will not play in the Sixers next matchup against the Chicago Bulls. Sixers Robert Covington also had a big game scoring 19 points on (4-7) shooting from three point land.
For the Memphis Grizzlies, their two all-stars played big in closing the game down the stretch. Marc Gasol finished the game with 27 points. Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley finished the game with 25 points and 9 assist. The Grizzlies picked up their sixth straight win. Follow the game, Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale spoke the Sixers battling the entire game and the impact that Joel Embiid will had on the NBA for years to come.
