The 2016-17 NBA season tips off in October and the Atlanta Hawks are ready to get things rolling again. On Monday September 26th the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club hosted the team’s 2016 Media Day at the W Atlanta Hotel in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. The Hawks begin preparing for the upcoming 2016-17 season and Terrell Thomas (Eldorado) and Brian Da Director were on the scene to talk with the Atlanta Hawks and get the inside scoop on the upcoming 2016-17 season.
We caught up with Atlanta Hawks guard Malcolm Delaney to get some insight on what he expects from his team during the 2016-17 and more. Malcolm Delaney signed a multi year contract with the Hawks in July. Malcolm Delaney played his college basketball at Virginia Tech but his professional career began overseas playing 5 seasons in France, Ukraine, Russia and Germany.
Malcolm Delaney spoke with us on his road from the Euro league to the NBA. Speaking on the similarities and differences in Euro basketball and NBA basketball. Malcolm acknowledged that the physical play and spacing are two of the biggest differences he has noticed. Before wrapping up the interview, Malcolm Delaney spoke on supporting the Angel McCoughtry and the Atlanta Dream and he shared his pre game playlist with us and more.
