These aren’t your Mama’s Atlanta Hawks! The Atlanta Hawks are now (5-2) after defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers last night in Cleveland (110-106).
For the Hawks, point guard Dennis Schroder had a career high 28 points including several clutch baskets down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Kent Bazemore was also huge for the Atlanta Hawks as he poured in 25 points including the game clinching basket with under 10 seconds remaining. Dwight Howard’s force in the paint was evident from the opening tip as he grabbed 17 rebounds and Hawks all-star Paul Millsap added 21 points.
Lebron James dropped 23 points for the Cavs but it wasn’t enough. Kyrie Irving was the Cavaliers high scoring dropping 29 points and Kevin Love added 24 points. The Atlanta Hawks are back in action tonight as they host Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls.
