Known for his deep rumbling voice and rapidfire flow, Trae is showcasing his introspective, vulnerable side on Tha Truth Pt. 3, particularly with his last single, “Take Me Back.” For “Thuggin,” the Houston OG shows that he can take it back to the trap with braggadocios punchlines, paired excellently with Thug’s helium-voiced gems (“I cut my bread up with no butter, who are you?”) and Skippa Da Flippa’s nimble musings.
Dropping July 21st, Tha Truth Pt. 3 is a star-studded affair, cementing Trae’s status as a seasoned rapper who can command the respect of OGs like Wyclef Jean & T.I. to bright young stars like Post Malone and Maxo Kream, and that’s not including the project’s massive posse cut lead single, “I’m On 3.0,” which featured everyone from Gary Clark Jr. to Tee Grizzley. Tha Truth Pt. 3 will be followed by Trae’s 10th annual Trae Day event, which is sponsored by McDonalds.
