Tonight is the night many Lakers fans have been waiting for! Lakers great Kobe Bryant will have both his number 8 and number 24 retired tonight by the Lakers making Bryant the first player in NBA history to have two numbers retired by the same team. Before tonight’s event, back in December of 2015, Terrell Thomas spoke with Kobe about which number he would want the Lakers to retire and what he’d miss most about the game after retirement. It’s only right to revisit the moment.

In December of 2015, Los Angeles Lakers champion and future hall of famer Kobe Bryant played his final game at Philips Arena in Atlanta and following the Lakers (100-87) lost to the Atlanta Hawks, Kobe held a special post game press conference to speak with members of the media one last time.

Kobe finished the game with 14 points on (4-19) shooting so after the game Kobe spoke on his health and finishing out the game strong. With 20 years served in the NBA, Kobe opened up with reporters on his journey and some of his greatest memories on the court and in Atlanta.

During the press conference Kobe spoke on breaking his retirement news to Byron Scott, traveling city to city with his teammates for the last time, possibly playing in the 2016 Olympics, mentoring the younger Lakers, life post basketball, the Lakers retiring his jersey number and more. HHS1987’s Eldorado also spoke with Kobe about what he will miss most once he hangs up his sneakers for good.

The interview was conducted and shot by HHS1987’s Eldorado. Stay tuned to HHS1987. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your sports news.
