Basketball continues for the Atlanta Hawks with the second game of a back to back coming today. Tonight the (32-25) Atlanta Hawks are on the road as they face the (21-38) Orlando Magic.
The Hawks are coming off of a tough loss last night to the Miami Heat (108-90) at home in Philips Arena. The Hawks were without their starting point guard Dennis Schroder who missed the game due to a team suspension. Schroder reported back to Hawks camp late following the NBA all-star break. Millsap scored 21 points last night for the Hawks and newly acquired Hawks Ersan Ilyasova scored 9 points in 16 minutes of action in his Atlanta debut. The Hawks will be at full strength tonight and will be looking to rebound against a familiar foe.
The Orlando Magic have struggled as of lately and before the 2016-17 NBA deadline approached, the Magic traded one of their best players in Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors for high flying guard Terrence Ross. Ross scored 13 points in his first game with the Magic and we could see his scoring average increase as he receives more playing minutes. Magic head coach Frank Vogel has been pleased with Ross’ play so far, and it will be interesting to see how he stacks up against Atlanta’s guards.
