On Friday December 30th, the Atlanta Hawks moved on to a record of (17-16) after defeating the (15-20) Detroit Pistons. The game was close after the first quarter as both teams were tied at 19. In the second half of action, the Atlanta Hawks started to pull away and they finished with a (105-98) win.
Atlanta Hawks star Paul Millsap continues to carry the load for the Hawks on the offense side of the ball. In 37 minutes of play, Millsap finished with 26 points on (9-20) shooting from the field with 6 rebounds and 5 assist. Kyle Korver provided the spark off the bench that the Hawks needed to walk away with a victory. Korver finished the night with 22 points. Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder also continues to improve as the season goes along. Schroder was (6-14) from the field with 17 points.
The Detroit Pistons defeated the Hawks earlier this season on December 2nd (121-85) but the Pistons didn’t have that same magic on the court Friday December 30th. Pistons star Marcus Morris missed the game due to knee soreness and the Pistons missed his presence on the floor. Pistons forward Jon Leuer was the leading scorer on the night with 22 points on (9-16) shooting. Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson was effective as well scoring 20 points on (7-17) shooting.
