Today, the 2017 NFL Divisional round continues in Arlington,TX. In what could be a NFC battle for the ages, the (13-3) #1 seed Dallas Cowboys host Aaron Rodgers and the (10-6) Green Bay Packers. The Packers and Cowboys met earlier in the season with the Cowboys defeating the Packers at Lambeau Field (30-16). Today may be different.
This is going to be a good one. The Dallas Cowboys have had their best season in years led by two rookies and Cowboys Nation hopes their journey doesn’t end until they reach the Super Bowl. Cowboys rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot have played strong all season and that must continue if the Cowboys want to advance. Look for Prescott to pass for over 240 yards but to toss two interceptions today. The Cowboys will look to get their running game rolling to keep Aaron Rodgers and Packers offense off the field. Look for Zeke Elliott to rush over 25 times and rush for 120 yards.
If the Cowboys want to win, Dak may have to do it with his arm. Look for Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant to be very effective in today’s game. Dez Bryant will have 7 receptions for over 110. Dak and Dez will connect on two touchdown passes this afternoon, I don’t know if it will be enough to move on to the next round.
The Green Bay Packers have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL over the past two months. The Packers are coming off a big wild card victory against the New York Giants last weekend, and they will be looking to keep that momentum going today. The Packers running game has been bleak all year and today they come into the game without Aaron Rodgers favorite target Jordy Nelson. Nelson suffered a rib injury last week against the Giants and he will miss today’s action.
Look for Aaron Rodgers to come out firing on all cylinders. Rodgers has thrown 19 touchdowns passes and zero interceptions during the Packers 7 game winning streak. Rodgers will pass for over 350 yards and 4 touchdowns today. The Packers will stay honest and rush the ball, the arm of Aaron Rodgers will determine if they advance to the NFC Championship game. The Packers defense will have a bend but don’t break game plan. As long as they can keep Dallas kicking field goals, Aaron Rodgers will have a chance to make a play and give his team the win. I’m going with the road team here. Stay tuned to HHS1987. Follow @eldorado2452 on Twitter and Instagram for all your NFL and sports news.
