I think it is safe to say that the Oklahoma City Thunder have had one of the best off seasons in sports history. Not only did Thunder general manager Sam Presti bring over NBA all-stars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to team up with NBA MVP Russell Westbrook, today the Thunder agreed to terms with Westbrook setting NBA history.

The OKC Thunder and Russell Westbrook has agreed to a five year $205 million dollar extension, the richest contract in NBA history. With this new deal, Westbrook will make about 38 million dollars a season moving forward. This has been a great Summer for Russell Westbrook. After being named the 2016-17 NBA MVP, Russ became a father, recruited two new teammates in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, he signed a new deal with Jordan Brand and now the highest deal in NBA history.
It’s official. Every day is Russell Westbrook Day. pic.twitter.com/0HY2Lc9gu9

Russell Westbrook’s new deal starts during the 2018-19 season. Overall the deal is six seasons and $233 million through 2022-23. Now the question is what will Russell’s new deal mean for his fashion sense. If we thought Russ was creative before, I can’t wait to see what tricks he pulls out the bag.
