What a horrible way for the 2017-18 NBA season to begin. With all the hype surrounding the NBA opening night matchup between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, the story of the night ended up being a devastating injury to Celtics star Gordon Hayward.

Just about 6 minutes into the first quarter, Gordon Hayward suffered a season ending injury after falling awkwardly on his leg. Hayward Hayward fractured his left tibia and dislocated his ankle. Hayward is flying to Boston tonight and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.
