The Atlanta Hawks are now (25-18) after a big (102-93) win on Friday evening vs. the Chicago Bulls and they look to make it two wins in a row as they host the (15-26) Philadelphia Sixers.
The Atlanta Hawks were defeated on the road on Wednesday night in Detroit and they came out focused at home on Friday night looking to improve from Wednesday’s poor performance. The Hawks are (2-0) so far this season vs. the Sixers winning by 21 points and 32 points in their first two matchups. The Hawks have dominated their recent matchups against Philadelphia. In their last 13 games vs. Philly, the Hawks have defeated the Sixers 12 times. This will be the second game in a row for an Atlanta Hawks team that host 3 home games in 4 days. Atlanta Hawks big man Mike Muscala has missed the Hawks previous 3 games due to injury and tonight may be his fourth straight missed game.
The Sixers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA in the month of January and the Sixers have won 8 of their previous 10 games. One of the brightest sparks for this young Sixers team has been the play of rookie center, Joel Embiid. Embiid is averaging nearly 20 points and 8 rebounds during this 2016-17 season for the Sixers but will not play tonight in Atlanta. The Sixers are playing their second game of a back to back tonight after defeating the Portland Trailblazers (93-92) last night at the Wells Fargo Center.
