Another thrilling night at Philips Arena on Saturday has shown fans that the young Hawks team could be very good in months to come.
The Atlanta Hawks are a young and athletic team but that hasn’t resulted in many wins this season. On Saturday night, the Hawks lost to the Celtics (110-99) in what was a sold out Philips Arena. Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder finished the night with 23 points and 9 assist. Hawks swingman Kent Bazemore finished the night with 19 points on (5-8) shooting from the field.
The play of rookie John Collins so far this season has been more than impressive. Collins dominated the paint with 18 on (7-8) including a few very key slam dunks. In his first action since opening night, DeAndre Bembry returned to the court and was on the court for about a two minutes of action.
The Boston Celtics are rolling and Saturday night’s victory was the Celtics 15th straight win in a row. Celtics star Kyrie Irving was amazing going (10-12) shooting from the field finishing with 30 points. Marietta, GA native Jaylen Brown had a career high 27 points in return to Atlanta playing under emotional presser after losing his best friend earlier in the week.
The key player on the night to Me was Celtics big man Marcus Morris. Morris has a big second quarter scoring 10 points in the second quarter and finishing with 14 points overall. Marcus Smart added 10 points off the bench for Boston.
The Hawks will look to bounce back and pick up a victory on Monday night as they travel to Texas to face the San Antonio Spurs.
