South Carolina’s very own NGeeYL (pronounced “en-gee-why-el”) releases his debut mixtape, Tales of YL.
The “Trip Gang” rapper’s sound is rather distinct as his relaxed cadence over the hard-hitting production is uniquely and solely NGeeYL. With the Spartanburg rapper, every bar and ad-lib is full of grit, as his crafted narratives turn into anthems inspired by the trap and for the trap.
NGeeYL’s hard work in South Carolina caught the attention of Young Nudy and that lead to the recording of “Slime Sh*t.” That major co-sign caught the attention of 21 Savage. The “Bank Account” rapper invited the newcomer to perform alongside him. The admiration from both 21 Savage and Young Nudy is a humbling experience for the 20-year-old, who just began his rap career less than a year ago.
Tales of YL is a powerful nine track introduction that proves that NGeeYL is bound to deliver more heat and carve out his place within hip-hop. Take a listen below.
