Peewee Longway might not be the most recognizable artist in trap music, but he has been one of the most important since he came on the scene. The MPA BandCamp clique leader and 1017 Records affiliate is the one who introduced Young Thug to Gucci Mane, leading to Thugger getting signed. He’s also one of the first to invent the “dab.” Next month, he’s returning with a new project, Spaghetti Factory, and ahead of its release he drops the lead single.
For Spaghetti Factory, Peewee links with Atlanta producer Spaghetti J to craft a minimalistic, left-of-center collection of trap bangers that allow the portly rapper to display an underrated lyrical prowess. For lead single, “I Can’t Get Enough” Peewee peppers the beat with outlandish punchlines and tongue-twisting alliteration in equal measure. Spaghetti Factory, one of Peewee’s more personal and experimental projects to-date, drops April 13.
