The Atlanta Hawks 2017-18 season can not be defined by their record. Each night the young Atlanta Hawks roster comes out to play and that was the storyline here tonight at Philips Arena.

The Minnesota Timberwolves entered the game tonight with a record of (32-20) looking to pick up a road win against the young Hawks. The Timberwolves have a few former Hawks on their roster in guards Jeff Teague and Jamal Crawford but in his return, Jeff Teague struggled.
For the Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler was the teams leading scorer finishing with 24 points on (7-15) shooting with 7 rebounds. In his return to Philips Arena, Jeff Teague had a rough night shooting (1-12) for just 2 points with 10 assist. Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins played a good game finishing the night with 18 points on (8-14) shooting from the field. Off the bench, Jamal Crawford finished with 10 points.
The Hawks came to play tonight and that was evident from the beginning of the game. Tonight, Kent Bazemore was the teams leading scorer finishing with 22 points on (8-14) shooting. Kent’s play was huge in the fourth quarter as he helped the Hawks capture the lead with a few big shots and defensive plays. Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder was effective for Atlanta tonight finishing with 18 points and 11 assist. Off the bench, Hawks big man DeWayne Dedmon added 10 points and Hawks rookie John Collins finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawks will look to keep this winning streak alive on Wednesday night as they welcome Dwight Howard and the Charlotte Hornets. The Timberwolves are back in action tomorrow night (1/30) in Toronto as they face the Toronto Raptors. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news.
