The 2019 NBA Summer has possibly become the greatest offseason in American professional sports history. With so many of the NBA’s top players and free agents joining new teams this Summer, the biggest fish in the pond has a new home.
2019 NBA Champ and NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard has agreed to a 4-year $142 million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. The excitement doesn’t stop there. Not only have the Clippers signed Kawhi Leonard, they have also agreed to terms on a deal that will send Los Angeles native and now former Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George to the Clippers as well.

During meetings with the Los Angeles Clippers, Kawhi informed the Clippers that if they could get Paul George, he (Kawhi) would sign with them as well. The Clippers are trading Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari along with five first round picks to the Thunder for Paul George.
Kawhi leaving Toronto makes this the first time in NBA History that a reigning NBA Finals MVP left his team after winning the NBA championship. The addition of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George makes the Clippers the favorites to winning the 2019-20 NBA Championship.
