Some of you may know Jamie as Wexx from Tapemasters Inc, or the mastermind behind ThisISRnB.com. He is also known as a best friend, cousin, brother, uncle, son, father, to name a few. To me, my amazing husband was simply known as my love. We have two beautiful boys, a one and four year old.
We decided to take the plunge and move from New York to Philadelphia to start the next, exciting chapter of our lives. Our oldest had just started school, and we were so proud to see him thriving in his new environment. Everything changed in a flash in the fall of 2018. We were thrown into a whirlwind in an instant to be exact. The fall festival picture is when we noticed that the love of my life really didn’t look well. October 13th will forever be embedded in my mind. I knew something was majorly wrong when my husband didn’t return home with my father from the ER the night before.
I really couldn’t comprehend the words when my mother said, “Jamie has cancer.” My mind questioned if I was having a nightmare. My mouth screamed to no end, and my body went limp. Those are words no one should ever have to hear! Jamie was diagnosed with an ultra rare, stage 4, high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma. An extremely rare and extremely aggressive incurable cancer. It started in his colon and quickly spread to his liver, bones, and lungs. Throughout it all, my love always stayed positive and optimistic! Jamie said, “ I can see the hashtag now, #rarestage4cancersurvivor .” Unfortunately he never had the chance to say that, but we can say, #rarestage4cancerChampion.
Jamie ended the battle on Monday, May 20th 2019. Jamie was an authentically warm soul. Beautiful inside and out. It’s difficult knowing that he will never get the chance to see his sons grow. It’s unclear why a fit and full of life 37 year old, could be taken so suddenly. However, I find comfort in knowing he has found peace, and will now be the guardian angel watching over our boys. I will do my best to instill the values and passion for music and sports so his legacy can live on in our children.
It may be cliché but it certainly rings true. “Jamie may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.” I am asking for help for the unexpected expenses we’ve had to incur as a result of Jamie’s sudden illness. Please donate and share this page with everyone you know.
On behalf of my love, and our boys, we truly appreciate your contributions! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us in this most difficult time.
