West Coast Based Hip-Hop Artist Reloads His Latest Project for a Bigger Rollout After Recognizing Its Potential as an Independent Classic
VA STREETZ is preparing to re-release his 15-track album, The Cannons on October 23, 2026. The album was originally released earlier this year but the project was subsequently removed from all digital streaming platforms as the West Coast-based hip-hop artist and his team reorganized for a stronger, more strategic campaign.
The decision was not about a lack of confidence in the music, In fact it was the exact opposite. As the positive feedback surrounding the album continued to grow, VA STREETZ realized the project deserved more time, resources and attention than it initially received.
“This dish wasn’t cooked,” VA STREETZ explained while discussing his decision to pull the album.
“I originally planned to release the album in late summer, but once I stepped into the studio and started recording, the records became even more impactful than I had envisioned. Hearing the lyrics go from the pad to the booth showed me that I had something special.”
Before its initial release, VA STREETZ shared several records with people inside his trusted circle. The enthusiastic reviews and growing anticipation convinced him to release the album earlier than planned. However, the project’s arrival quickly created new opportunities for both the artist and his team.
“After I released the album, doors began opening for me and my team,” he continued. “We reached an agreement that brought in some of the assets I felt were necessary to release the album properly.” One of those assets was Timmy Pierce of S.T.G Pierce Entertainment Group. Him and his team are playing an intricate role surrounding the new release date.
VA STREETZ initially planned to move forward by recording an entirely new project, but his team strongly encouraged him to refocus on The Cannons.
“My team told me, ‘No this album is it. We aren’t recording any more records, this is that album – You already have the anthems and potentially a classic independent album,’” VA STREETZ recalled. “I reset, listened to my team and now we’re anticipating a high-level rollout.”
Featuring 15 tracks, The Cannons pairs VA STREETZ with Jewel Cannon and delivers a full-length collection built around sharp lyricism, street-centered storytelling and undeniable independent energy. The tracklist includes “My Name Iz My Name,” “Cold Hard Cash,” “Rico,” “Phoebus Anthem” and several collaborations featuring 3rd Letter, Oski Whoa!!!, Esa MunClf, Pooh, South Side Yoko, Leon Lovelace and additional guests.
The October 23rd re-release represents more than a second launch—it is a complete reset designed to give the music the platform, presentation and promotional support it deserves.
The Cannons will be available for pre-order on 10/1 and will officially return to digital platforms on October 23, 2026.
