Introducing David Lyn.
David is the younger brother of Grammy Award-winning producer, Izy Beats (Koffee, Jorja Smith, Burna Boy, Lila Like). Last week, ahead of yesterday’s Juneteenth celebrations, David unveiled his emotionally, socially, and racially charged single, “Can’t Breathe.” The single is the first release off his upcoming debut EP, “Any Day Now” and is a bold statement to the fight against police brutality and injustices in America – especially after recent tragedies of innocent Black lives being murdered at the hands of police.
“I’m out here riding my business. You say I fit the description. Say you ‘posed to keep the peace to be defending me. Treat me like an enemy, now you here arresting me. F*ck it, just another Black n**ga with a felony. Use the law to make us slaves, that’s the recipe.”
This verse not only addresses what’s going on in present-day America but what Black and Brown people have been up against for ages.
