Virginia recording artist Duce Banx is coming off a 10 year hiatus with a very heartfelt body of work, “Underrated & Jaded”. After taking so much time away from music, Banx is ready to share his new perspectives with 12 tracks that help to shape where he is currently along his musical journey.

Over the years, Banx has gathered new experiences that translate through is new music, and listeners can take fancy in how polished his album is with heavy hitting tracks like “Man In The City,” “Keep It True,” & “Humble King to Humble Beast”.

We had a chance to catch up with Duce Banx upon the release of his new project for a few questions to accompany his musical thoughts. Tune in below for the dialogue:

Tell us about Duce Banx & what got him inspired to become a Hip-Hop artist..

At a young age I fell in love with music. I can vividly remember my mom and dad always saying I knew every song on the radio growing up. But even tho I loved rap and hip-hop, I didn’t wanna rap until my dad put me on with Slick Rick. He let me hear “Children’s Story”, Rick told the story so crazy, I saw everything he said, then he had the dope English accent too. At that point, I wanted to tell dope stories through rap too.

Who are some of your music influences? How does their influence translate into your music?

Man, I’m influenced by people like Cole, Kendrick, Drake & Wale in the current hip hop scene and a few others. But the way it translates is more like motivation, I don’t try to sound like them or anything although subconsciously I think I do at times. It’s more so their relatability, and their comfort with being open through their music that allows me to express real events from my life like them.

What was it like coming off our your hiatus in 2019 & creating new music?

It felt good man, refreshing. But I will admit, it was lil nerve wrecking for a min before I dropped. I just had to come to peace with the fact that everyone would have opinions of my music, which is my baby so I apprehensive. But once I made up in my mind that I didn’t care what people thought. It was on!

What are you looking to conquer in 2020 musically?

Conquer? I’m not sure I want to conquer anything but I definitely wanna kill some goals. Dropping the album was the mane goal but now my goal is to just continue to grow, get better. Kill some features, shows and deliver some dope visuals.

What would you like to leave the fans with when it’s all said & done?

Timeless music and relatability. I want my music, to be played for every occasion, the turn up, the vibe out, the pre game before the turn up, the date night, the ride to work, the late night ride home, the time when you need solace when your heart heavy, all that and everything in between. There’s something for all occasions coming from me! Everybody WILL find something they like. I’ll put it like this, give me your ear for a min, I’ll have your hear for a lifetime.

Treat yourself to Duce Banx and his latest sounds, and keep it locked as he’ll be pumping out new visuals and content to accompany his album reintroduction, soon.
