In his first release since “What It Was (ft. Future),” Gotit cooked up a melodic trap heater with “Tellin Ya (ft. Lil PJ).” Gotit flexes his foreign whips (Maybach, Porsche), his charm with the ladies, and declares sole loyalty to himself with the juxtaposing lines, “make me don’t trust nothing,” and, “I’m so slime, can’t trust me.” In the video, Gotit rocks various butterfly-themed designer sweaters, dancing under neon lights and surrounded by all his favorite things: a baddie, his son Lil Gotit Jr., one of his partners Lil PJ, who chimes in with a guest verse.
“Telling You” is Gotit’s first new song since “What It Was,” a dramatic collaboration with trap godfather Future, and first video since the intimate, WHIPALO-directed “Crazy Thoughts,” a highlight from the 21-year-old rapper’s April 2020 project Hood Baby 2. The sequel to Gotit’s 2018 debut mixtape, which announced the then-19-year-old rapper as a player to watch in his hometown scene, Hood Baby 2 demonstrates the rapper’s artistic evolution–his flows hit harder, his ad-libs are wilder, and his money is longer. The project is home to “Drip Day N Night” ft. Gunna and Gotit’s brother Lil Keed and “Yeah Yeah,” featuring Keed and Future. Featuring additional appearances from Lil Yachty, Guap Tarantino, RG Jaydog, SG Kendall, Uno Freaky, and B Slime, Hood Baby 2 is available everywhere!
