Later this year, Kobe Bryant will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a first-ballot enshrinement – no vote needed.
And rightfully so. There’s just no arguing this.
Along with Kobe, whose recent tragic passing has the whole world in mourning – whether we knew him personally or not – will be fellow NBA veterans and stars, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. The induction will take place in Springfield, Massachusetts.
“Expected to the most epic class ever with Kobe, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett. Kobe will be honored the way he should be,” stated HOF chairman and former USA Basketball Director, Jerry Colangelo.
“The Hall of Fame joins the rest of the basketball world in mourning the untimely passing of Kobe Bryant, a nominee for the Class of 2020 and an icon of the game. We offer our sincerest condolences to the Bryant Family and all of those affected by this tragedy. We look forward to announcing our Finalists at NBA All-Star Weekend and revealing the full Class of 2020 at the NCAA Men’s Final Four in April,” a spokesperson from The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
If you recall, Kobe’s nomination for the HOF honor was announced back in December.
