Hailing from Griffin, GA, Kyle Stemberger is a true innovator. Instead of resting in his comfort zone, he is always ready to set the bar higher and dabble with exciting new ideas to add more depth to his creativity and vision. From a young age, music was something that captured his imagination. At the tender age of 5, Kyle was already determined to learn an instrument, so he picked up the piano and eventually, the guitar. Not too long after, he started to record himself on his parents’ computer making up his very first riffs and song ideas.
He soon set his sights on Atlanta, near his hometown where the likes of Future, Young Thug, and Migos were recognized globally. He would take trips to the city to mark his stamp on Hip-Hop by gaining tremendous working knowledge of how production was crafted and how those particular songs came to life.
Since then, he started producing beats while also taking advantage of his guitar and piano skills to bring a kaleidoscopic edge to his productions. One of his most significant projects was “Be Honest,” with Jorja Smith and Burna Boy. Not only was the track extremely well-received, but it was also the first time that he worked on a song that wasn’t strictly rap, allowing Kyle to experiment with an array of ideas and raise the bar even further.
Aside from those international stars, Kyle has also worked with other heavy hitters, including Flipp Dinero and Lil Baby, on the song “How I Move.” Stemberger is a versatile producer who would sit in his studio and make a whole beat from scratch, then bring it on to a session and see what happens when the artist hits the vocal booth.
On the other hand, he can just as easily craft a song from scratch with artists and writers, making it all happen while following the vibe and flow of a particular session. With that in mind, Kyle acknowledges the value of collective ambitions as they are the best way to capture the impetus of a moment in time and channel creativity in himself and those around him.
Some of the best producers out there do more than just dishing out killer beats. It’s all about creating something that inspires artists to do some of their best work, and this is pretty much what is happening with Kyle. His production approach brings out the best in everyone he works with, be it artists or other fellow music producers who collaborate with him on a session.
This fresh attitude is also a perfect way to avoid getting stuck in the usual creative patterns. Some producers tend to work in a bubble, making tracks in their studios and seldom attending sessions with other artists, at times solely using the internet to communicate with the outer world.
While there is nothing wrong with that, the process can lead some to burn out feeling stuck. Kyle is flexible and ready to work in different situations. It seems he’s found the perfect antidote to creative burnout: an optimal workflow supplemented with a work environment thats surrounded by a great team of people he loves. (Especially due to his recent partnership with Prescription Songs, helping him work at the top of his game and make sure that the songs find a better audience for himself and the artists he works with).
